The change shows from the second session. On the legs the result is the most visible of the whole body, and the underarms also start to lighten the darkening left by years of shaving.

How many sessions will I need? Between six and eight, spaced four to six weeks apart. After that, maintenance once or twice a year.

Why doesn't it work for some people? Almost always because of something nobody asked them before starting. If you have an untreated hormonal imbalance, or take biotin or any medication that affects hair growth or loss, the laser is working against hair that keeps coming back. The right thing is to finish that process first — and we'll tell you so at your assessment, even if it means you don't book today.

Before your session:

• The area must be completely shaved with a razor, with no deodorant.
• Wear a white bra.
• If you are taking or about to start any medication, let us know before your session so we can verify it is not photosensitive.

After your session:

• Use sun protection.
• Do not use alcohol-based products or deodorant right after the session.
• Avoid hot baths, heavy sweating and massages for 5 days.

Not candidates:

• Pregnant or breastfeeding.
• Blonde or gray hair.
• Vitiligo.
